Bottle Pot - Buxton
Beneath the picturesque valley of Chrome Hill lie numerous caves. One of them is Bottle Pot, a recent discovery unearthed in 2009 and named after its bottle-shaped base passage. A blue gate marks the entrance to the cave. Despite being only around 35m in depth, it offers a fun evening trip involving awkward ropework in very restrictive sections. After dropping down some small pitches and squeezing through a tight rift, a traverse is tackled before descending an exposed pitch which bottoms out in a beautifully carved phreatic passage. The passage continues through a heavily silted section and meets an active dig.
